Go Build Georgia begins outdoor outreach campaign

The Outdoor Advertising Association of Georgia has teamed up with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development to promote “Go Build Georgia,” a skilled labor advancement initiative. The billboards will be placed across the state in attempt to recruit Georgians into the skilled labor trades.

“GOWD is excited to work with the OAAG team to help illustrate the message behind Go Build Georgia,” said Tricia Pridemore, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development. “To keep Georgia’s economy healthy and thriving, we need to stress the importance of the skilled trade careers in our state. We are encouraged by those companies who have jumped on board to support this initiative.”

The Governor’s Office of Workforce Development predicts over 16,500 jobs will become available within the skilled trades in the next year. Go Build Georgia aims to unravel the misconceptions of a career in the skilled trades and recruit highly skilled Georgians to bridge this workforce gap.

To date, OAAG is running more than 100 digital billboards for the Go Build Georgia program across the state.

“Georgia’s outdoor advertising companies rely on skilled labor every day to help our customers grow their businesses and create jobs,” said OAAG Executive Director Conner Poe, “The Go Build Georgia initiative is critically important to our industry and the state’s economic competitiveness. Our industry continues to actively participate in community programs such as this one, and we are proud to partner with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development to spread this important message.”
