Georgia has long enjoyed a presence in 11 strategic markets around the world. In order to keep up with the demands of an ever-changing global market, we are happy to announce that we have just expanded our presence into a 12th international market, Peru.
Our International Trade division has received a growing number of export requests in Latin American markets and we are thrilled to be able to extend our company-focused export assistance to the Peruvian market.
In fact, Georgia exports to Peru have increased 42 percent in the past decade, and Georgia is the 7th largest U.S. exporter to Peru. Delta offers daily direct flights from Atlanta to Lima, and Peru remains a market of interest for the Georgia Ports Authority.
Governor Nathan Deal announced Peru as Georgia’s newest international market last week at our 2018 Go Global Reception where we honored 40 companies with a GLOBE award for entering into new global markets.
Georgia’s representation 12 strategic markets include: Brazil, Canada, China, Chile, Colombia, Europe, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Peru, the United Kingdom and Ireland. The top markets among this year’s winners include Australia, Japan, Latin America and the United Kingdom.
